Bought them a long time ago in box hill, but that is neither here nor there... It's just a super lazy saturday afternoon and the weather is awesome. (Excuse to play with my camera)
Almost like summer, almost.
I'm still waiting for it's arrival patiently....... I don't know why but it's such a nostalgic season and everything that happens during summer I'll probably always remember.
What I really have to do at some point in my life is see magnificent summer fireworks! Not by myself though, so please join me. XD
Wait, if I go back during Chinese new years, wouldn't there be a lot of amazing fireworks? Yes, but I'll explain what's different about that...
1) It's not summer, It's winter. Meaning it's freezing since I'm from the north 8D I don't really like the cold...
2) Some fireworks going off during that time are just NOT fireworks. It's more like explosive bombs made purely for 'enjoyment' and rendering people deaf. My dad and uncle love those... 二踢脚。 Savvy?
3) There are main public fireworks but most people go out and set off their own, well into the morning of the next day, and the next day, and the next... It's not a crowd enjoyment thing. I like it when everyone, I mean EVERYONE, is watching it and go woaaaaaaaaaah~~~ and then go home to an environment where sleep is possible. XD

Nice photos! Btw about the GIF thing: I used a program called Image Ready which is an extension of Photoshop. You have to make every frame yourself, the only differences between the frames is the transparencies and visible layers. The program also allows you to drag and move objects, so they change between frames -- which is what I did for the fish gif. Then you use a tool which selects 2 frames and you can insert as many frames in between to 'smooth' the transition out. It only really works with fish because the shape of their bodies don't change. The best animations are the ones which you literally draw out each frame, just set the previous frame to 50% transparency and draw over it on a new layer... (I tried this with a cat animation but after 16 frames by mouse, I was so sick of it!)

ReplyDeleteI'll be going back to china too but I'm sure both aus and auckland are well warm enough for it to still be summer by the time we come back :D
The snow stopped in dunedin T-T waaaaaaa me want more snow! Bessie are you going to China at the end of the year??
